Welcome to the Perkycrew EverQuest Server
Welcome to the Perkycrew Server! Whether you're a returning adventurer or stepping into Norrath for the first time, this custom server offers a unique and carefully balanced progression experience. The maximum level is 50. If you encounter players above level 50, do not be alarmed—these are GM or testing characters.
To obtain AA points, turn in your Script of Lost Memories to Mystic Terinuld. You may earn up to 1500 AA at the start using these scripts. Upon reaching the Planes of Power, your AA cap increases to 2000, and you must turn in a Script of Planar Power to gain AA from 1501–2000. Once you gain access to Morell's Castle, the cap rises to 2250 AA. Turn in Script of Morell's Memories to progress from 2000–2250. These higher-tier scripts also work for players above 1500 AA should you prefer to use them early.
Most spells and disciplines can be acquired in the Library in the Plane of Knowledge, including many new class abilities. Monks now have access to numerous healing disciplines starting at level one. New characters begin with several AAs that cost zero points—be sure to check your General AA tab to see what you start with!
Original Epic quests are enabled and their rewards have been substantially upgraded. Original Epic items can evolve into 1.5 and 2.0 versions using the evolution system. You may activate evolution by right-clicking the item or by opening your character window and using the Evolution tab. Evolved items should return augments to your parcel, but this does not always work, so it is best to remove augments prior to leveling the item, or take a screenshot and send it to the admin so he can return the augments if they do not get parceled correctly.
The Bazaar is functional on this server, and you can view items from anywhere using /bazaar. Some spells and abilities only drop in certain zones. Currently, Beast Domain, Morell Castle, and Meldrath's Mansion all have a unique spell or ability for each class.
There is a patcher at the beginning of the welcome section where you can download all of the required server files. There is also a zip for a fresh RoF2 install in this same section if you need it. Experience loss on death is enabled, but there are no corpse runs. You will likely die quite a bit up to level 20; after that you have much more access to stronger gear (via legendary items) and then augment drops at level 25+.
Rules
You are allowed to box up to 7 on this server, 6 plus a bazaar character. The server is geared towards a solo/duo experience though, so you might not find it a challenge if you're playing with 6. You can use MQ2 and programs like that, but you MUST be at your computer when using any 3rd party programs. There is no warping/hacking/fast travel allowed beyond the confines of what normal characters can do via normal everquest methods (spells, PoK stones and the like). Please all just have fun, be kind, and enjoy the server! If you're caught breaking any rules then you will be banned and your characters will be removed.
Additional Gameplay Features
The custom Epic quest begins with Tierna Morganna the Spellweaver. Make sure you take notes (and probably screenshots) of where you are in the quest so you don't forget. Her second turn-in also requires you to give her the token that she provided during the first step. The custom Epic quest rewards a different Epic item than the original 1.0—it occupies a different slot, so it remains useful alongside your original epics.
Braxter in PoK can provide additional server information. Be sure to check out all of the various NPCs in and around the server building in PoK—they can offer new quests or additional information.
Nearly any wearable item can be found as the base item, or as Enhanced, Rare, Epic, or Legendary versions of itself. NPCs gain a buff if they are +6, +8, or +10 levels higher than you. This makes them stronger, but also gives them a chance to drop additional loot. NPCs also gain a buff if there are 15 or more of them attacking you at one time. This is not meant to be instant death, but it does make them stronger and is intended to discourage excessive swarming. Quests also have a chance to reward you with upgraded loot.
As this server is a solo/duo based server, if you're in a group of 3 or more, the NPCs you're fighting will get tougher as you get more people in your group! This is to keep the server at least slightly challenging for those that wish to box more than 2 characters.
Daraleect the Disenchanter in PoK can downgrade most quest items if you receive an enhanced variant that you need to turn in. If you give him an item and he does not downgrade it, let the admin know. You can also type !petstats to view your pet's stats and currently equipped items.
World & Progression Updates
Permafrost, the front portion, is now a low-level raid zone (roughly level 16+). This zone drops any of the newbie class/deity armor with no race restrictions (deity restrictions are still in place). There are also new bosses in this zone that can drop weapons. The welcome section includes a list of where new raid mobs, added throughout the game, can be found.
Maximum heal amount and spell damage is capped at +1,000. Maximum shielding (and related defensive stats) is capped at 70%. You can box up to six characters plus one Bazaar character if you wish. The server currently runs up to PoP + LoY with some additional custom zones. Warping is not allowed.
Only Epics that were originally dual-wield style can still be dual wielded. If you do an Epic quest twice, you run the risk of losing one of them due to lore restrictions.
Suggested Progression
Generally, you can follow standard Classic–PoP progression for leveling, minus any zones that normally require a flag. See the turtle in the PoK building for information on the flagging process.
At level 35, Beast Domain (speak to the bard in PoK next to the server building to learn how to flag for this zone) can help you earn money, and every class has one spell that drops here. There are raid bosses in this zone that are tough but doable as you level up. Use caution if you're trying to kill them at level 35 on your first character.
Meldrath's Mansion is a good spot around levels 37–40, on the first floor only. Beware of the Chrono Ravager. Speak to Meldrath near the PoK building to learn how to flag for this zone.
Once you hit level 50, enemies level 54+ will drop the best augments. Work on flagging by killing dragons or named mobs to get into Plane of Tranquility and attempt the PoP Gauntlet.
Most legendary gear is level 20+ and almost anything wearable (with rare exceptions) has a chance to upgrade up to Legendary. This includes crafted items and most quest rewards (with the exception of some ammo items used in crafting). There are multiple raid targets throughout dungeons and open areas. One of the more recent ones in Karana will always drop Legendary gear (including food and ammo).
If you get unlucky and cannot find an upgraded item, there is a merchant in PoK who can upgrade items for you—at a steep price. Epics cannot be upgraded through this merchant. There is also a mount gambler and a polymorph/illusion gambler in PoK next to the server building.
In Planes of Power and beyond, you will have a higher chance to obtain better augment drops. You can also purchase a key for Veeshan's Peak. Speak with Morell in PoK to learn how to gain access to Morell's Castle.
Morell's Castle, Meldrath's Mansion (upper and lower floors), Veeshan's Peak, and planar zones are all roughly similar in difficulty but drop very different types of items. It is strongly recommended that you have at least 50+ shielding before attempting these areas. Enemies level 50+ have an increased chance to drop Scripts of Forgotten Memories.
Rebirth System
Character Rebirths are live! Visit the Rebirth NPC in PoK to begin. Characters must be level 50 to rebirth, and must have a required amount of AA which increases with each rebirth. There is a maximum of three rebirths.
When you rebirth, your AA points are refunded and you are given a percentage of your AA back: 25% for Rebirth I, 35% for Rebirth II, and 45% for Rebirth III. You will also gain access to the class-specific AAs of the class you choose for that rebirth. Your base class remains the same and your spell gems are cleared. Your bank is unchanged and your inventory is not wiped, though you may not be able to wear items with level restrictions until you level back up.
You are not able to memorize other classes' spells or abilities; you are only able to learn their class-specific AAs. Only AAs that are truly class-specific are granted—if an AA is shared by multiple classes, it is not available unless it was originally part of your base class. Rebirth does not grant you additional access to armor types (for example, a caster cannot wear plate just because they rebirthed into a plate class).
Each time you reach max AA after a rebirth, you will receive a tome in your parcel that grants additional AA when right-clicked. The tome is LORE and will not stack with itself. If you are going to rebirth a second or third time and you are not going to use the tome, you should delete it first or you may miss out on additional AA. Each subsequent rebirth provides an upgraded tome with the same LORE tag, so you cannot stockpile them.
These tomes are purely end-game items intended to push you past the standard 2250 AA cap. You cannot use them until you have first reached 2250 AA. The first tome grants 250 AA, the second grants 500 AA, and the third grants 750 AA.
For the first two rebirths, you can go past 2250 AA and then rebirth again, starting the next life with more AA than before. On the third rebirth, using the tome will allow you to reach a total of 3000 AA. If you are not going to use the tome before rebirthing again, remember to delete it so you do not lose out on extra AA.
